Mission and Ethos of St. Mary’s NS

St Mary’s NS was established in 1945 to cater and to provide education to the population. It is a co-educational, Catholic, primary school which strives to provide a well-ordered, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed.

While St. Mary’s NS, Barndarrig is a school with a Catholic Ethos it also has due recognition for all other religions. The core values of love of God and love of neighbour are lived out in our school, in a spirit of honesty, fairness and respect and appreciation of diversity.

Sensory Room

The Sensory Room at St. Mary’s NS gives students a chance to take a break from the usual classroom environment and engage in play which is both calming and intriguing to the senses.

Summer Programme

We run a fully funded summer programme for two weeks directly after term ends in June. Eligible children participate in activities such as sports, games, baking, creative play through arts and crafts etc.
